Voice telephone communication systems can be of three types:

- Corded handsets providing two-way telephone calls |
|
- Wireless handsets providing two way calls and intercom, and |
|
- For helicopters, a standard or dzus mounted dialler with conversation through the normal aviation headsets. The dzus mounted dialler can be particularly useful for Emergency Services or other specialist application aircraft where a pre-programmed speed telephone number dialling facility is beneficial. Other options include a three push button facility: red, blue and green |
For example, if used on an Air Ambulance, when the red button is pressed, the emergency position is transmitted and the report transmission rate is increased. When the blue button is pressed, the hospital is alerted that the patient is now on board. The green button will log a manual position report, such as a defining a landing zone for future use.
Satellite Tracking Systems:
Satellite Telephone Systems can be supplied with a Tracker.
This add-on facility can provide real time monitoring of an aircraft's movements thereby offering significant added value to an operation where monitoring is important. This is a critically important benefit for Emergency Services aircraft or other specialist applications. Private monitoring is secured either over the internet or through the customer's private data network.
